3 blog post ideas that always work

Posted by: Avery    Tags:  content development, remodel marketing    Posted date:  January 18, 2011  |  Comment

Creative thinking and writing are difficult when you run a contracting business sometimes. For my colleagues who say they don’t have the time to blog it may not be a matter of making the time, but that when they sit down to start a blog that content is hard to write.

Here are three easy topic categories:

  1. Problems-Over on my contracting site I wrote about dogs and hardwood floors.  I’ve been asked for years about this and only recently did it occur to me to make a post. I got an e-mail lead within three days of the post and landed the job.
  2. Products-Simple enough, but you would be surprised how many people want a contractors perspective on a product and not just a supplier.
  3. Projects-Preferably explaining enough of what you did with before and after pictures. I prefer a narrative to go with the pictures, which just doesn’t happen in a gallery alone. Video is icing on the cake.

It only takes a post or two a week written in 30 minutes or less and you will see more phone calls and higher Google organic search results.
